Web Design
IOM Pleasure Cruises
This website was designed from scratch with a selection of photos from the client, the text was taken from their phsyical leaflet. The brief required the website to advertise the services of the company and also feature an easily-updatable timetable listing.
Laxey Harbour Chalets
The Laxey Harbour Chalets website features individual pages for each chalet, a downloadable booking form and information on the local area. There is an easily updatable admin section to show the latest vacancy information.
This website is currently undergoing a facelift; updating photos of the various letting properties and making the site compliant with all current HTML and CSS standards.
Adam Berry Artwork
I put this website together for Adam based on his artwork. The specification called for several items on the site, namely a blog, gallery, store, information/about page and a links page. With this list I opted to use the software from Wordpress and created a custom template. This solved the blog, info and links pages however certain things needed to be altered for the rest including installing a custom script (which then had to be modified further) to enable an easily-updatable gallery. As of this moment the store is not officially online, however the code is in place and ready to go for when the time comes.
MySpace Design
Increasingly more people who require a minimal prescence on the web, or bands who are starting out, feel there is no need to have a complex, tailor-made website to begin with. Due to this reason (and people being disappointed by 'pre-made' layouts) I have been asked on various occasions to create original MySpace layouts using my unique design style and skills programming CSS. Although coding on MySpace isn't exactly simple, some spectacular results can come from it with excellent looking, original layouts. Take a look at some of the example below to see what I mean.
Section Five Art & Design
Created to promote this website, the Section Five MySpace uses the same colour and logo guidelines to great effect. It is effective to use branding colours or fonts as they serve as a familiar point across websites. Once a brand is established it will be remembered and recognised again and again.
Suspect Package
www.myspace.com/suspectpackage
I created a Suspect Package-green theme for this band MySpace. Graphics include band logo, background effect and contact box layout. The content and images for the music player were uploaded by the band, they still retain full control over the MySpace account. In these instances I simply offer the working code to them for them to place in the appropriate section when logged in.
I Blame You
www.myspace.com/iblameyoumusic
This layout was created for the Metal/Punk band with an eye to looking dark but with a fun side. This idea works perfectly in the background of light and dark cloud and in the rugged/grungy logo.
The same practice as above works here as well, the users are given the final code to paste into their account. If there are any problems they can simply get in touch with me and together we can try and solve them. At the design stage I use an offline version of a MySpace account in order for me to be able to update the site quickly and without causing issues on live profiles.
